Unbound Heart is a unique and innovative ring design created by Xuehui Liu. This ring features a mechanism that allows it to be worn in three different styles, making it versatile and suitable for various occasions. The inspiration behind this design came from the desire to create a ring that can be worn every day, regardless of the outfit or event.

What sets the Unbound Heart ring apart from others is its ability to transform into three different positions, each showcasing a different style. When the ring is worn in an upward position, it forms a complete closed circle, exuding a retro style with 18k gold accents dotted with small pearls and jewels. In the middle position, the ring becomes semi-open, parallel to the ring arm, giving it a fashionable and modern look. Finally, when worn in a downward position, the visual effect is soft and lengthened, adding an elegant touch to any ensemble.

The realization of this design involved extensive experimentation to ensure smooth and stable movement when changing the angle of the ring. The mechanism utilizes the inherent toughness of unhardened gold, providing both functionality and stability. The Unbound Heart ring is made of 9K gold and is available in three different shapes: ellipse, triangle, and rectangle. The gemstones used in the design include topaz, tanzanite, and emerald, complemented by delicate pearls.

The Unbound Heart ring project started in May 2019 and was completed in September 2019. Throughout the design process, the main challenge was to achieve a smooth and stable transition between the different positions of the ring. After numerous experiments, a mechanism was developed to ensure the ideal state was achieved.

The Unbound Heart ring has received recognition for its exceptional design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category in 2020.
